This Cookie Policy explains how Kosi Xpanda uses cookies and similar technologies on https://www.kosi.mu (the “website”), which cookies are set, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer, tablet or phone when you visit it. They let the website remember information about your visit, such as your preferred language. “Similar technologies” work in the same way and include browser storage (for example sessionStorage).
Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other companies, for example when a Google map loads on our pages or when you play a YouTube video, are called third-party cookies. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (session cookies); others stay on your device for a set period (persistent cookies).
2. How we use cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. We use them to:
- keep the website secure and working (strictly necessary cookies);
- remember your language (English or French) while you browse (functional cookies).
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not sell information collected through cookies. We do not currently use analytics cookies. If we introduce analytics such as Google Analytics, those cookies will only be set after you accept them in a cookie banner (see section 3.3).

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are needed for the website to work and to protect it. They cannot be switched off in our systems.

3.3 Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
Not currently in use. If we switch on Google Analytics to measure how the website is used, we will first ask for your consent through a cookie banner, and the following cookies will only be set if you accept them:

3.4 Third-party cookies from embedded content
Some pages show content hosted by other companies. When this content loads, the provider may set its own cookies and receive information such as your IP address. We do not control these cookies; please see each provider’s policy.

Fonts (Google Fonts) and some scripts (jsDelivr) are loaded from these services. They do not set cookies, but they receive your IP address in order to deliver the files.
4. Other technologies
- Browser session storage: WordPress stores a small technical value (
wpEmojiSettingsSupports) in your browser’s session storage to check whether your device can display emoji. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close the tab. - Chat assistant and forms: our chat assistant (“Ask KOSI”) and our contact and quotation forms do not set cookies or store anything in your browser. Information you type in them is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. How to manage cookies
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings:
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the website from working, and blocking the language cookie means the website may not remember your language choice. To stop third-party cookies from YouTube or Google Maps, you can block third-party cookies in your browser. Once analytics is in use, you will also be able to opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use, for example if we start using analytics. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
